5 Things Everyone Should Know on How to Maintain Your Vehicle

Whether you’re 16 with a brand new driver’s license or 45 with lots of mileage under your belt, driving is fun. There are road trips, playing your music loud with the windows rolled down, and the freedom that you feel behind the wheel—but there’s a darker side to car ownership as well. You have to worry about filling up your tank, checking the oil, and changing flat tires, so it’s imperative that you have some general maintenance skills. Tyre care is one of the most important aspects of car maintenance. If you notice one of your tires looking a little low, having a pressure gauge is incredibly helpful. You’ll know whether you can get away with refilling the tire or if it needs changed. If you need to replace more than one, you can always drive to Reedman Toll Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram to get it done professionally, but that’s not always possible. If you get a flat in your driveway or on the road, rely on your own know-how. Your car needs various fl...

Where do I add oil to my engine?

Sometimes we forget just how little is taught when it comes to taking care of the simplest things when it comes to cars. We depend on them every day to get us to and from work but show them very little attention once we get there. One of the most important things to keep an eye on is the engines oil level. And when it is low, topping it off so we can continue to rely on them each day. Locating the engine oil cap requires looking under the hood. Don’t be scared. It is usually clearly identified with the word “OIL” marked on the top of the oil fill cap. Turn the cap to the left just like opening your 20 oz. beverage of choice. Add the appropriate amount of oil and tighten the cap back on. No matter what the nature of your business — full-service, express, self-service, detailing, etc. — the process of cleaning the interior of a car starts with a good vacuum job. And, to do a good job, you need a good vacuum. A basic interior cleaning may only include a vacuum service and a quick wipe down of the interior surfaces; or, it may be much more involved, including a carpet and upholstery shampoo or steam cleaning. In any case, it is critically important that the carpet and upholstery are thoroughly vacuumed before proceeding to any subsequent process. For best result it is always preferable to use the best car vacuum cleaners . Do not just vacuum up the dirt and debris sitting on the surface; make sure to get all the sand, dust and debris buried in the roots of the carpet and upholstery fibers. 4 REASONS I AM IN LOVE WITH MY HARDWOOD FLOORING!

Hardwood flooring Utah can conjure up memories and whisk you away to an old log cabin or a chic downtown loft with each step you take. Different shades and types of wood can evoke entirely different personas for a room. Mahogany feels rich and inviting, offering a perfect place to light a candle and read a book. Dark shades can be sleek or cozy when paired with different furniture and colors. Even lighter shades can give that feeling of warmth, especially if they’re coupled with coastal colors. Who doesn’t want to be transported to the beach whenever they walk in their front door? The great thing about hardwood is that it can transform a room. Hardwood gives a space a personality that carpet, vinyl or tile just can’t do. Each board is unique, making your flooring one of a kind. It invites you to make yourself comfortable no matter where you are. When I stand back and look at my holiday decorations and lights shining off my floors, it always reminds me of being a kid at grandma’s ...

Looking For A Used Car? Breathe, Relax, Take Your Time

In the movie  To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar , Patrick Swayze and the girls need to buy a car for a cross-country road trip. “Substance or style” is their dilemma. The girls ultimately choose style, only for the car to breakdown in small farming town where Stockard Channing lives. Hilarity ensues. Indeed, if you buy a used car for all the wrong (read: “style”) reasons, there won’t be much hilarity when you find yourself shelling out thousands of dollars to fix what the seller promised was already fixed. If your issue is concerning a broken  windshield replace  it here. Few people can afford a new car these days, so you have to wonder just who is buying a Lamborghini (Jay Leno) or those funky new small cars with all the bling (not me). Given that all new cars lose up to 20% of their value once they’re driven off the lot, it makes sense to consider a used car, especially if it’s for your grown children, PFLAG mom, or the life partner you’re not sur...

HOW I UPDATED MY LIVING ROOM FLOOR AND REIMAGINED MY LIVING SPACE

The crew took extra care to insure that the stain on the new flooring matched, as closely as possible, the original stain on the floor it butts up against in the adjoining room. Looks nice, don’t you think? Since we moved here I’ve been trying to figure out what to call these rooms. Living Room 1 and Living Room 2? That sounds too much like Dr. Seuss. And I don’t have any Whatsits that I know of in the house. We have two “living rooms” in our home. They’re on the front of the house, and  open up to each other through French doors, which we keep open. The room on the right houses the fireplace, the one on the left the TV. (This is one of the rooms that got new flooring.) How about Fireplace room vs TV room? Not getting better. I need help! ANYWAY. With the new hardwood flooring Utah down it seemed like a good time to update the rug in the living room. The old rug was a wool kilim rug that really liked clinging to dog hair and was super hard to clean. It was time to bring...

Painted Brake Calipers

Custom painted brake calipers are a cool way to add a pop of color to the wheels on your vehicle. It adds a nice, subtle look that doesn’t immediately jump out at you, but gives it that little something extra that makes the car uniquely yours. With painted brake calipers,  you can add those pops of color to match existing accent pieces, like the other red accents shown on the Mazda RX7 below. Brake calipers are a part of the disc brake system on your wheel. Depending on how many rotors your car has, there will either be 2 brake calipers for the front wheels, or one on all 4 wheels. They aren’t the most aesthetically appealing without paint, as shown here… Brake calipers can be easily taken off, and painted to match the car. You can also match certain accent colors on the car, or painted a completely different color to give it that unique edge. It’s not a lot of surface area that’s getting painted, but the difference it makes is well worth it. Depending on the...
